These fish live in warm and temperate waters. They live in the Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific Oceans. The sailfish’s diet consists of tuna, mackerel, needlefish, jacks and halfbeaksin the Atlantic; in the Pacific, jacks, anchovies, sardines, triggerfish and ribbonfish are the animals that makes up their diet.
Fun facts: Female sailfish can lay up to 4 million eggs. When they hatch out of their eggs, the larvae are about 0.125 inches long. They can grow up to be about 4 to 5 feet long. Sailfish get their name from the sail like dorsal fin on their back.
