The nurse shark is found in tropical and subtropical waters. They are frequently found on rocky and coral reefs. They feed mostly at night on spiny lobsters and other crustaceans, small stingrays, sea urchins, squid and bony fishes.
Fun facts: The scientific name for nurse shark means “curled, hinged mouth.” Nurse sharks can reach a length of up to 14 feet and a weight of up to 330 pounds. Their tail fins can account for up to a quarter of their length.
