Cuttlefish

This is the most common cuttlefish.

Cuttlefish live in tropical and temperate waters. They usually stay in shallow areas but can go down to 2000 feet. The cuttlefish’s diet is small molluscs, crabs, shrimp, fish, octopus, worms, and other cuttlefish.

Fun facts: Cuttlefish have three hearts. Cuttlefish can mimic the shape and texture of objects around them. Cuttlefish can also instantly change color to match their surroundings.

This type of cuttlefish lives in coral reefs, rocky reefs, seagrass beds and muddy and sandy areas off of southern Australia. It feeds on fishes, crabs and other crustaceans.

Fun facts: This cuttlefish is the largest of its kind. They can grow up to one metre. It has eight arms and two extended tentacles.
