Southern platyfish

This fish is called a southern platyfish.

The southern platyfish is native to Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. It prefers slow-moving waters of canals, ditches, and warm springs. It eats both plants and small crustaceans, insects, and annelid worms.

Fun facts: The anal fin of the male has evolved into a stick-shaped organ used for reproduction. They birth 20-40 at one time. When they are born they are 7mm long.
